6 Simple But Effective Ways You Can Reach Your Goals

Goals push us to keep going.

They motivate us and help us lock on to a target.

Through evolution we have learned that the best way to get results is to focus our attention on one thing at a time.

And just like hunters in the past, modern humans continue to use goals to find a target, plan to reach it and dominate it.

So keeping that perspective in mind it’s important that all of us fully harness the power of goals and know how to effectively reach them. And luckily for all of you that is what I hope to share with you right now.

Here are 6 Easy Tips to help you reach even the most seemingly difficult goals:

1.    Radiate Self Confidence

The ceiling to your potential is always self-confidence. So don’t cap it. If you think inside that you can achieve something you WILL find a way.  To reach your goals learn to believe in yourself and focus on the positivity. You are a limitless. With the right amount of focus and determination, even the most seemingly impossible things can be accomplished.

“Crystallize your goals. Make a plan for achieving them and set yourself a deadline. Then, with supreme confidence, determination and disregard for obstacles and other people’s criticisms, carry out your plan.”- Paul J. Meyer

2.    Define Your Goal

This is especially important for big long term goals because it’s very hard for our minds to wrap around such large gaps of time. We need smaller stepping stones in the middle to keep focused and sharp.

So for example: If your goal is that you want to increase your restaurants monthly revenue, you can’t just leave it at that. You have to define smaller manageable goals along the way such as:

•    Increase the number of tables in the Restaurant
•    Reduce the number of waiters
•    Find a cheaper source of cleaning products

You need to remember that if you don’t know exactly what you’re working towards you’ll never get there.

3.    Set Deadlines

If you have a very large goal in mind, setting deadlines for yourself will greatly help to prevent you from procrastinating.  Without a deadline we tend to keep pushing things forward to a point they never get done. So try to break down your bigger goal with a final deadline into several smaller goals with individual deadlines all inside the deadline of the larger long term goal.

4.    Remind Yourself

You should always make your goal a priority. Don’t let it get lost in the entire jumble that goes on every day. I forget things all the time, even important things.  It happens to the best of us. But that’s why you have to keep fail-safe methods ready just in case you do slip.

Try to make a written statement of your goal which you can see every day. A note on the calendar, or even just a sticky note that you keep on your mirror will go a long way and will greatly help to accomplish the ultimate goal.

5.    Visualize and Reflect

Many people have attested to the power of visualization.  Successful people ranging from sports athletes to business owners use visualization on a daily basis to help them achieve their goals.

You should and can do this on a daily basis in just a few minutes. Here’s a basic way how:

•    Picture yourself working towards your goal
•    Put yourself in the actual moment, step by step
•    Create a sense of success and positivity
•    Finally visualize yourself achieving your goal

You will notice that this simple 5 minute exercise will not just help you calm your verves if you’re stressed but it will help you become more positive and motivated towards achieving your goal.

6.    Tell Others

This is one of the hardest things to do but I can personally vouch for it because by telling somebody else your goal, you make yourself accountable not just to yourself but to somebody else.  This in a way forces us to complete the goal so that we don’t fail just ourselves but the person we told as well.

Most of us have at least one really supportive person in our lives – so tell that person and take advantage of their support.

Final Words

In closing I want to remind you that anything is possible. If you can think it you can do it. Never forget that you’re limitless.

Best of Luck!
