There are a lot of people today that are fresh out of college or university, and they don’t know what to do.
Or maybe someone has lost their job, and they are staring into the dark abyss of the future without a clue as to where to start.
All of this can seem scary, but it’s an opportunity for change.
You are no longer the person you were when you started on your current path, and if you want to be fulfilled, you have to be willing to leap into the unknown and find what makes you come alive.
Here are 5 quick tips for finding and following your passion:
You can’t know what will come in the future. All you can do is focus on this present moment. You can only do the best you can do, so forget about everything else.
When I started my online passion business, it was a struggle at first, because I wanted guarantees, and I was afraid of failing. Eventually I just started and took action.
That’s when I realized that I don’t have to know it all. I just have to work with the present moment. And live from my heart. I just have to follow my excitement and do what I love doing. So let go and live life one moment at a time. Follow the clues and enjoy the adventure.
2. Heart-Centered Living
Your heart is your internal GPS. It knows where you need to go. When you get a good feeling about something, that’s your internal GPS working. However, you have to be careful about mixing up the signals, because sometimes our emotions can cloud the transmission.
This discernment only comes through experience, so you have to make mistakes and learn from them.
Right now, you most likely aren’t following your heart, or your GPS.
How do you start?
You simply follow your excitement. Deep down, you have an idea of what you want to do, but you doubt yourself. You don’t think it’s going to work. Follow that inner calling and see where it leads you. That is heart-centered living.
3. Confusion
Changes are happening all around us, which means you will be confused, scared and uncertain, especially when you start following your passion.
It’s not a bad thing, because it means you’re evolving, you’re changing for the better.
It may feel bad right now, but let it be okay. Don’t struggle with not knowing, because you’ll spend your whole life struggling if you try to figure out the future. In order to find and follow your passion, you have to embrace confusion and let it be there.
Because it is in confusion that possibility dwells. So if you’re confused and uncertain about what you’re passionate about, just let it be. Focus on this moment, and ask yourself: what do I feel like doing, right now?
4. Status Quo
Your friends and family may resist you following your passion, but you have to let them be.
What they think and feel is none of your business. All you can do is follow your heart, because that is what will lead you to your purpose.
If you want to live a fulfilling life, you have to follow what’s true for you. This is something I’ve been fortunate enough to realize early in life.
And it’s one of the reasons I wake up in the morning excited to start my day.
Forget about what other people want for you, and focus on what you resonate with. No one can live your life for you.
5. Determination
Life isn’t easy.
Finding and following your passion isn’t easy. You could settle for a comfortable job, but you and I both know it’s not going to make you fulfilled.
Face your fears, follow your passion, and take risks. Yes, be smart about it. But beware if you aren’t making progress, because it’s a sign that you’re holding yourself back.
When you are determined enough to live your passion, you will make it happen.
Bottom Line
Finding and following your passion may be tough, but it is worth it. You will be confused and scared, but it doesn’t matter. You don’t have to figure any of this out.
All you have to do is listen to your internal GPS, your heart, and take one step at a time.
What do you feel excited about right now?
Follow that.
And keep going.
